Growing up, my father was in the military, and we moved frequently. But one of the constants in my childhood was our visits to the Hawaiian Islands. Every time we landed, I felt an immediate sense of peace, as if the islands were embracing me with their warm, fragrant air and gentle ocean breezes. The lush landscapes, golden beaches, and vibrant tropical flowers created a paradise that felt like it was meant just for me.
As I grew older, I knew Hawai’i would always be a part of my heart. So when I got married, there was no question about where we would go for our honeymoon—we chose Maui.
A Honeymoon Wrapped in Fragrance and Love
We stayed at a beautiful resort on Maui, and just outside our lanai, there was a garden filled with plumeria trees. Every evening, my husband and I would step out onto the balcony, wrapped in each other’s arms, as the sweet and delicate scent of plumeria blossoms surrounded us. It was romantic in a way that words can’t quite capture. The soft glow of the moonlight over the ocean, the rustling of palm trees in the warm breeze, and the intoxicating floral aroma made every moment feel timeless.
It was in those quiet moments—standing in the tropical air, feeling completely at peace—that I realized just how much Hawai’i felt like my true home.
