Welcome to Good Smells Inc.
I’m Rose the eccentric. I create fragrances and thoughtfully made goods for the home, auto and self, drawing inspiration from literature, faraway places, forgotten rooms, old world curiosities and the natural world.
A candle might begin with a novel. A fragrance might take shape around a particular landscape, a passing thought, or the feeling of a place you’ve never actually been. I’m interested in the stories behind things, the atmosphere of a room, and the little details that make an ordinary moment feel like something else entirely.
You’ll find fragrances inspired by books and imagined destinations, alongside familiar comforts and unexpected combinations. From the warmth of an old library to the stillness of a garden after rain, each creation has its own character and somewhere to take you.
Beyond our collections, I work with couples, independent retailers and hospitality businesses to develop custom fragrances and thoughtfully considered collections. Whether it’s a wedding favor meant to linger in someone’s memory or a signature scent that becomes part of a place’s identity, I love creating something that feels distinctly its own.
Our goods are made in small batches, with careful attention to materials, ingredients and the details that matter. From 100% soy wax sourced from American farms and beeswax candles to home fragrances, botanical preparations and other curiosities, everything is made with intention.
This isn’t about filling a room with another fragrance or adding another thing to a shelf. It’s about atmosphere. A sense of place. The stories we attach to ordinary things and the unexpected ways we find ourselves transported.
